Runway 10/28 & Taxiway A Rehabilitation Begins September 21

The Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority will begin a major rehabilitation project on Runway 10/28 and Taxiway A on Monday, September 21, 2026. Construction is currently scheduled to continue through November 5, 2026, with work divided into four phases to maintain aircraft access throughout as much of the airport as possible. As part of the project, Runway 10/28 will remain closed for the full 45-day construction period. While portions of the runway rehabilitation may be completed earlier, the runway must remain closed because of additional construction activity occurring within the Runway 10/28 safety area.

Runway 17/35 will remain open throughout the project.

Taxiway closures and aircraft routing will change as construction progresses through Phases A, B, C, and D. Hangar access will remain available through alternate taxi routes during most phases. During Phase D, aircraft access to the east hangar area will be temporarily unavailable while work is completed on Taxiway A east of Taxiway C.

Pilots and airport users should review current NOTAMs via the official FAA source before operating at GXY, as individual phase timing and construction dates may change based on weather, field conditions, and construction progress.

• Runway 17/35: Open
• Taxiway and hangar access: Varies by construction phase
