Greeley-Weld County Airport has received notification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that the VOR-A instrument approach procedure is being considered for retirement. This proposal is part of a broader FAA initiative to streamline and modernize the National Airspace System by identifying and retiring procedures that may be underutilized or redundant.
At this stage, no final decision has been made. The FAA has requested that the airport provide feedback within 30 days indicating whether the procedure should be retained or can be removed, along with any supporting justification.
We are seeking input from airport tenants, users, and other stakeholders to judge the amount of utilization and whether there is an operational need for its continued availability.
If you utilize the VOR-A approach or believe there is value in retaining it, please submit your comments or relevant operational justifications in the form below. The deadline for public comments will be May 1st.
Your feedback will assist the airport in preparing an informed response to the FAA.
Thank you for your continued support of Greeley-Weld County Airport.
