EAA Chapter 1117 is comprised of individuals who are interested in promoting and encouraging the education of the general public about recreational aviation, the design and construction of amateur-built aircraft and the restoration of aircraft.  We promote education of the public about aviation safety in the design, construction and operation of all types of aircraft.  We encourage youth to pursue their interest is aviation and related activities.  Our members are building a variety of airplanes, from wood and fabric to composite to metal.
