Survey of CTAF Frequency Change
The current CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) of 122.8MHz at KGXY has been getting congested. In studying the nearby airport frequencies, staff found that there are currently 41 airports using 122.8MHz within 200 NM (Nautical Miles) of KGXY. It was then advised that we look to change our CTAF frequency to a less congested frequency. As part of the earlier study, the frequency of 122.7MHz was found to be the least congested and was found at only 7 airports within 200 NM. The closest airport utilizing 122.7MHz is over 90 NM from KGXY.
UPDATE:
Based on feedback from tenants, users, nearby airport, and the FAA we will be instituting the change of the frequency to 122.7MHz. This process will take some time to get through FCC approval as well as updating FAA documentation. This page will be updated project progress when available. We would like to thank everyone who participated in our survey and look forward to making this change.
